He wasn't obsessed about but he did care about working out at least three times a week and eating well. Pizza was okay but only on special occasions. And what better time to jog than at night? The air was cooler, the sky was beautiful and besides, girls seemed to enjoy seeing him work out. It was a win win situations for everybody. Of course he never went all dressed up for a jog just because of the ladies.
The day had been tiring at Sakura and he needed a little run to clear his mind. Her mother called him 4 times to work. His supervisor was starting to get pissed at him and with reason. There he was, trying to make his living, and his mother wouldn't stop asking when he was coming back or if he was eating well. Haru was probably eating healthier food now that he wasn't home anymore. His younger siblings weren't fans of vegetables so Haru had no choice but to cook something the whole family likes, ending up in cooking something not has healthy as he would have liked.
Sighing, Haru looked around. No one seemed to be around. He had reached the Sunshine Park, which now wasn't as bright as it's name, but still had some beauty to it. Stretching for a while, he decided to relax his muscles by walking around the park. No girls. That was good. He wasn't in a mood for clingy girls. Another night he would have charmed on or two into his apartment, but not tonight. He needed to rest. Sitting on a bench nearby, he lifted his head and looked at the starry sky. When the days got colder, the sky formed clouds. But tonight was a pretty good night to watch the stars, so Haru just stayed there, enjoyed this state of peace he was now surrounded with. To them the only way this child seemed to learn was aggressive teaching. He bounced the basketball as he just walked down the streets towards the park. Late at night most people were either at home or had better things to do. Japanese born didn't change how much he felt out of place here, it had been too long. Time away from his home changed the boy and not all of it was for the better. Kohaku's blank blue eyes scanned over his surroundings, the green blurred his vision for a moment. 'This place...better be quiet..' The boy thought as he took another step towards the park pausing to only glance around him again.
Not that it was any surprise to feel like someone was watching him out here. Standing right out in the open suddenly left people exposed to more then just the wild animals. He stole the blue shorts that his mother had just washed, she might get upset if they were dirty the next day. Coughing slightly as he tossed the ball up in the air catching it in his hands. Today definitely called for a break after all that had happened during school and at home. It wasn't as if his parents were beating, starving and just punishing him. No they had goals for the small child they brought into the world and didn't wish to see him fail.
Though Kohaku had always tried to get them to trust him and let him do as he pleased. Sudden pain spread through his palm like someone had touched him with a burning match. His hand had formed into a fist the nails breaking into his skin. Small droplets of blood slipped down his hand onto the ground. His only reaction was a blank smile as he tipped his hand the blood falling onto the ground. "Ow that hurt." The voice matched just how blank his eyes looked. He sighed lightly just walking again and looking for where he wanted to go. The blue eyes drifted over the person on the bench what did they want?
Or more of what were they doing? This place was supposed to be quiet and have barely anyone in it. Specially in this area but Kohaku had no choice. It would either be stuck sharing with someone or kicking them which he didn't want to. Mostly he would rather do neither. A small frown as he watched him closely just walking towards him without another thought. He kept silent sitting on the ground next to him. If they never heard him then who cared, this was to get away from his parents. Before they tried to lecture him on something else again. "You shouldn't be here..." The voice should have given away so many things but it didn't.
Another boy near him. This was really going to go over so well he was sure of that. Maybe the sarcasm in his thoughts should have been paid attention to, but he only passed it off as nothing.[/style] [STYLE=float:right; background-color: #000; font-family: georgia; font-size: 9px; text-transform: uppercase; color: #ffffff; width: 310px; ; letter-spacing: 2.5px; padding-right: 10px; text-align: center;]CODED BY ACRYLIK ON BTN![/style]

Stars weren't his dream, but more like a curiosity. Even so, it would be nice to know the names of the constellations and what they meant. Haru liked history like a small child enjoyed being told fairy tales. He didn't liked studying it though, nobody did. And if anyone did enjoy studying whatever it was, Haru would say they were insane. Studying anything other than cocktails and recipes sounded crazy for him. It's not like he would nee to know the square root of 64 by the time he was an accomplished barmen.
His mother though Haru was the crazy one. Unlike his Haru, the older boy from the Koizumi household was smart. A nerd or a geek in Haru's eyes, but momma's perfect boy, always. It was annoying. All the older Koizumi did was study. He didn't know how to cook or even how to ride a bike. No wonder he decided to go to a college near home. Haru hated people who relied on others that much. It was like having 3 younger siblings instead of 2!
Lowering his gaze into the park, he noticed a blue head walking toward him. As the boy got closer and closer, Haru couldn't help to notice was small the boy seemed. In more ways than just his height. How hold was this kid to be wondering alone at such hour of the night? As the boy got closer, Haru could see he was more than 14 years old. Still, pretty skinny. The Koizumi boy wasn't expecting to find someone at the park but as long as the boy was cool with Haru being there, the green eyed boy didn't mind some company.
When the boy sat down on the floor, Haru was confused. Deciding he had been sitting around for too long, he got up. -You can have my seat if you'd like. No, he wasn't always like this, but the boy seemed like one who really needed to sit down, otherwise he wouldn't have sat on the floor. But apparently, the boy didn't like company. Even though the blue haired boy said it with a low voice, Haru heard it. How many times had shy girls stopped by Sakura and he would have to hear their barely audible requests? - You shouldn't be here either, it's pretty late for a kid to be walking around alone at this hour of the night. Maybe he shouldn't have given his seat to the boy after all. Even to the point of being lectured for being out at night by them wouldn't bug him. Almost nothing ever did nor would speak of the moment when it did. Silently watching the other male on the bench he still couldn't help questioning what he was doing. If anything most people knew not to be out here at night, or if they were to pick a safe place. Like somewhere with actually people around but the blue haired male had no room to speak. Since he was out here there was no lecturing anyone else. Then it would truly never make sense to them, or anyone around him now. Looking up to watch the stars twinkle in the sky, it was one of those few nights where he could actually see them. He had tried before by just climbing onto his roof or peeking out the window.
He could do nothing more then continue to question what this person was thinking. And try to talk to them without being completely blunt. Suddenly he thought maybe he had seen him before from somewhere, but where. The only things he did were run to school, play around town and eat at that famous ramen place. The rumors of the traveling ramen place that was really hard to find. Someone had to really want to try and find it if they wanted it that badly. Kohaku only hoped now that he could stay out here for awhile and this person wasn't dangerous. Though if he was the blue haired male would figure out how to deal with him.
However now of all times the boy had to remember talking to others was not easy. Maybe his actions seemed like he didn't care and half the time he would agree. But he would rather remain invisible then make enemies out of people. If it was the last thing he did in life being in the background still suited him better. The thoughts going through his mind still tried to register who this person was. Where had they seen him before? Or more of where had Kohaku seen him before it had to be somewhere he went often. But none of those places seemed to make any connection with this person. Not that he was afraid of this place not for himself.
That's the only reason he told Haru to leave and didn't even seem to care that he was still there. In the end if anything happened it would be another lesson for him to learn from. At least that was how he had been raised to see it. Only responding to him by shaking his head. He didn't want to move up there because it wasn't his seat. But he only sighed slipping up off of the floor to sit there on the very edge. It felt better to him because he left room for the other male to sit." you know you didn't have to do that...really. I'm not a kid..and I'm out here all the time." He sighed rolling his eyes and just giving a small yawn.
The boy just rolled his eyes but focused back on the other person rather then looking at the ground. How could he lecture him when neither of them had the room to do so.[/style] [STYLE=float:right; background-color: #000; font-family: georgia; font-size: 9px; text-transform: uppercase; color: #ffffff; width: 310px; ; letter-spacing: 2.5px; padding-right: 10px; text-align: center;]CODED BY ACRYLIK ON BTN![/style]

More positives than negatives in Haru's eyes. He could take company there anytime he wanted, there was no one to bug him about his chores or his clothes lying around in the floor. He could come home at what time he wanted or not sleep at home at all. On the downside, he had to be the one to clean the house. By himself. He really needed to find a house mate soon. Haru barely spent much time around the house so the light and water bill wasn't big. The apartment was a 4th floor with no elevator, so the rent wasn't something Haru could complain much about. But after living 18 years in a house full of people, his current lifestyle seemed kind of lonely.
Lonely. That could be one word to describe Haru or the boy who was now enjoying the cool air with him. Not exactly with him, they just met by coincidence. Still, there was something about this boy that made Haru want to be kind with him. The blue haired guy didn't seem to be the talkative kind of person, and yet, something in his eyes told Haru to stay there a little longer. It's not like he had anything better to do anyway.
Noticing that the blue haired left him some space on the bench, Haru took his seat once more. It was better to look at the stars sitting down than up. Besides, the boy seemed harmless. If anything were to happen, Haru was quite capable of defending himself. Seeing that this time the boy actually talked to Haru, the green eyed took this and the seat as a sign that the boy didn't mind Haru's company. Good thing though, he didn't feel like going home just yet. - You look like a kid though. Maybe he shouldn't have said that.
Sighing, he looked into the boy's face more directly. - I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that. Let's start again. I'm Koizumi, Haru. He was being awfully kind, which wasn't much like him at all. Was he flirting? No, he wouldn't do that with a kid. But the boy did have something intriguing about him and Haru wanted to know more. Or at least get up to start walking again. The basketball still clutched tight in his hands as he tried to think of being anywhere but here. Half the things he said might come across as rude or well just things other people wouldn't say. The people in the schools left Kohaku alone for that reason and just the fact that he stood out. Japanese born that had transferred to America people talked and most of them probably thought he changed. But really he hadn't that much, the only thing was he stopped talking as much. Most of his friends had moved on and found other people to hang out with.
Not that it had surprised him. The blue haired boy had looked at them with sad eyes when he left. Probably because he knew they would move on when he was gone. Or at least after awhile they still talked and did things together. But each one of them had different lives now. More along the lines of Kohaku had to adjust to living here again. While they had other friends and things to keep them distracted or busy. He couldn't help but know that he was a tad bit jealous. Wanting what they had even if he probably couldn't handle it now. So he kept to himself and talked whenever sometimes about random things.
Still he lived with his family in the same house they had before they moved. To think it had stayed there all this time and they had managed to pay it too. But that had also been the reason he moved away for schooling. His parents got better jobs while they were there, and when they left the money had been saved. He suddenly thought of the fact that his room wasn't unpacked completely. Kohaku had only unpacked the few things he really needed to and decorated his room like he wanted to.
Now he had to let his mind wander to the basketball posters and everything else he got in America. Foreign memories of a foreign place he might never go back to. Lonely really wasn't a word for him because he didn't feel that way. Kohaku stayed by himself for another reason because he still hadn't managed to fit back into this world. "Eh? I guess I do..." The boy wasn't exactly tall so he could look like a kid. If only because of his height and the way he seemed to get distracted easily. Though truly Kohaku wasn't always interested in things around him.
Kohaku only seemed to nod blank blue eyes looking at the person sitting next to him. He always seemed to be used to things like this as much as he didn't always like it. Not that they could blame him he only accepted things then moved on.
"Kohaku Tsuyoshi. Nice to meet you." He spoke with a polite but empty tone as he always did. Sometimes he barely noticed it because it had become second nature.[/style] [STYLE=float:right; background-color: #000; font-family: georgia; font-size: 9px; text-transform: uppercase; color: #ffffff; width: 310px; ; letter-spacing: 2.5px; padding-right: 10px; text-align: center;]CODED BY ACRYLIK ON BTN![/style]

He could be nice, and he was on certain occasions, but it didn't took him long to ruin those moments. From the outside, did he seem like the cool kind of guy, who helped everyone, was friendly and nice? True, he could be, but not very often. After being so nice with his family, his nice-side seemed to be extinguished. And yet, he just stood to give this unknown boy a seat.
He noticed he had a basketball in his hands. Was he a player? He seemed too short to be one, but who knew, maybe he was agile or fast. Haru knew better than to judge people from their appearance. Would it be rude to ask him? Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. Either way, he figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. - Nice to meet you too. Do you play basketball? Haru had only played in Physical Education classes and he befitted from his height. The basketball team asked him to join the team, but with his work and house chores, he didn't have the time to do it.
Why was he talking to the kid? He had forgotten already but what was the harm? He had absolutely nothing to do for the night and he wasn't feeling like going out. - Wanna play a one-on-one? The reason he had gone out was to exercise and he was getting rusty in basketball so maybe this would be good. If the kid had a ball with him, for sure he wanted to play. This Tsuyoshi kid seemed empty. His eyes showed no emotion and if he hadn't sat down on the floor next to the bench Haru was sitting, they probably would have never talked. He would pass by just like any stranger who'd cross the same stret as Haru. The green eyed teenager didn't believe in fate but it's true that a few things happened due to chance. Maybe this was one of those encounters. Not saying friend would seem awkward to other people but in this moment it was all Kohaku could say. Sometimes he felt like he might be avoided but he could also be wrong. Many things had changed since he got home.
From America to Japan...and now he had a hard time adjusting. Like truly hard to just make sense of the few things that had changed. "Yea...Just a little." Not wanting to give away very much about himself. The boy could only hope to figure things out on his own. He didn't need or want anyone to help him. Why would he even bother to ask? Kohaku could have asked so many times and yet he never did. He only went on with conversations then wandered away. Mostly when he felt that he no longer had a reason to be there.
Rolling the ball around in his lap he blinked looking up at this other person. Curiosity started to build up again wondering what he wanted. He mentioned basketball but there had to be something more then just that. Without much of another word he tossed the ball in Haru's direction. If he caught he did then if not Kohaku would wander after it with no sounds. Barely speaking after all was just the way this boy was ever since that had happened.
If someone told Kohaku he was emotionally damaged the child wouldn't believe it. Only thing he would say was that he just didn't care. And they were wrong. Kohaku didn't believe things even if he knew maybe they had a point. Silence flowed through the air only bringing out the sounds around them. Small sounds created by the night if it had been another situation he would have just listened.
To think now he felt as if he was going back to school. Except one difference someone wanted to actually do something, and he wouldn't be able to make them go away. Or at least so far Kohaku hadn't been able to. "Sure. Think you can keep up?" He wasn't saying anything rude he only meant it as a little innocent talk this time.
Kohaku wanted to see just how good Haru was, if he even could play. Maybe stopping to talk to him had been a good idea after all.

He had his family, he had a job and a couple of acquaintances that liked to be called "friends". He was good with the ladies and had a couple of male friends to hang out with. But all in all, he felt empty. At times like these, if he had that something in his life, he wouldn't need to go out at night to work out by himself. He couldn't afford the gym and working out outdoors was better anyway. The point was, Haru lacked something in his life he had yet to find out what it was.
But this guy seemed to lack more things than one. His gaze seemed empty. Kohaku was holding that ball but still said he only liked basketball a little. When Haru was small, he had a basketball and he loved playing it. Maybe it was because it was the only toy he ever had but still, he enjoyed every bit of it. A part of Haru wanted to know more and help this blue haired shortie. On the other hand, Haru figured that if he needed or wanted any help, he should be the one to ask for it and Haru to suggest it and end up like a fool if the answer was no.
Haru turned to the boy in order to talk to him some more when literally out of the blue, a ball hit him in the chest. The green eyed was confused. What was the boy doing?! The ball didn't hit him hard but Haru kept it in his lap to avoid any more surprises. He wasn't gonna ask what that was about though. Probably nothing. Or maybe the boy just wanted something to talk about. Haru was usually one that enjoyed silence. He believed there are two types odd silence: awkward and nice. Right now, the silence between the two males was somewhat in between.
- Dunno, we'll see. Getting up, Haru smirked. He wasn't that good but he couldn't complain either. Average, one might say. What he didn't like was the fact that he couldn't tell if Kohaku was good or not. Haru liked to believe he was good at reading people when in fact it was pure luck. Sometimes his intuition was right, other times it wasn't. This time, he had none at all. Suddenly he was having a simple conversation with someone. It made no sense to him but all he did was try to work with it. A small smile as he glanced up at the other male, while he might be emotionally damaged the boy could manage a smile. Very small ones but at least they were there regardless. Did Haru notice anything of about him? Probably but Kohaku had given up on caring. Better to just not ask and go back to playing the game. It had been part of the male's original plan and now he had someone to play basketball with. The male sighed wondering how this was going to go. Really it didn't help him now did it?
The fact that he was suddenly stuck between a rock and a hard place again. Something could only make matters worse as if he even wished to try it. "well come on let's play." Simple as that he really wanted to play a game and only bounced away. Ahead of him and giving a small sigh, not that it was truly going to help matters. They might get into trouble or push each other too hard. He waited for the other male to make some move. And well if he didn't Kohaku would jump in. Take a chance to do something and get him moving.
Totally all part of the plan. Now if Haru went along with it then they would be alright. And he wouldn't feel too bad about that sort of thing. Though Kohaku did not wish to hurt him or upset him, the blunt male didn't think much about making friends. Or even being nice as much as he probably should have. Just one of those moments when things happened anyway right?
Hopefully he would be fine. Kohaku tried to reach for the ball just seeming excited. Not that it probably made any sense to anyone other then him. A small attempt to actually play would do them good.
If Haru didn't bore him because then the male would just leave anyway.[/style] [STYLE=float:right; background-color: #000; font-family: georgia; font-size: 9px; text-transform: uppercase; color: #ffffff; width: 310px; ; letter-spacing: 2.5px; padding-right: 10px; text-align: center;]CODED BY ACRYLIK ON BTN![/style]

Had something happened to Kohaku or had he always been like this? For a moment there, the green eyed wanted to ask but another part of him told him not to care. He had just met him after all so what happened in his life was none of Haru's business. He did seem like a good kid to hang out with though. He didn't ask many questions nor was he annoying, which was a good thing. For annoyances he already had girls and his family, mostly his mom. And then the boy smiled, which made Haru smile as well. Good, he was normal after all.
All of the sudden, the blue haired seemed enthusiastic. Tossing the ball back to his owner, Haru placed himself between Kohaku and the basket. - Ok let's go. he said, He was curious about this situation. The boy who seemed so quiet was now excited about something. Although he didn't knew Kohaku very well, this didn't seem like his sort of reaction. In fact, he didn't knew the boy at all, which reminded him it was funny how the universe worked. He could have done so many different things in that night but he choose to go on a run, to this specific park. And the same thing went for the blue haired.
Whatever it was, here they were now. Two strangers and a basketball. It kind of reminded him of his high school days, when in P.E. teacher would make his class play against another class. They were strangers, some of them were not, but in the end, they were there for the game. Of just because they had to attend that class. Whichever it was, it came down to a basketball game. Was Haru being too philosophical? He liked to think he was part of a bigger thing than just the little world he knew.
